COMPETE

The Miss America Organization requires all contestants to register and pay entry fees, complete, and submit paperwork, and provide proof of eligibility and residency, prior to competing for a Miss or Teen title.  


Miss Louisa County, Miss Hanover County & Miss Lake Anna: 

  • Must be no younger than 18 by September 1, 2026
  • Must be no older than 28 by September 30, 2026
  • Be a  United States citizen.
  • Be a female.
  • Must be single with no legal dependents.
  • Delegates qualifying by residence must provide proof of at least 120 consecutive days of residency within the state prior to the date of competition. You do not need to be from Louisa or Hanover to compete.
  • Delegates qualifying by employment must submit documentation of full-time, in-person employment (minimum of 40 hours per week) held for at least 120 consecutive days prior to competition.
  • Delegates qualifying through student status must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university located in the state. Full-time status is determined by the institution.
  • Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization.
  • Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
  • Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the local, state and national competition(s) in which you compete.


Miss Louisa County's Teen & Miss Hanover County's Teen: 

  • Must be no younger than 14 by September 1, 2026
  • Must be no older than 18 by September 30, 2026
  • Be a United States citizen.
  • Be a female.

The Miss America Organization requires all contestants to register once during each competition season. Use the link below to register with MAO and pay the $49.99 registration fee. Please select “Virginia” and then “Miss Louisa County" when asked. Please take a screenshot of your registration and payment for verification.

Contestant Contract
Email Casey Hollins, Executive Director of Miss Louisa Organization at misslouisapageant@gmail.com for a copy of the Delegate Contract. Download and save as a PDF. Submit the completed and signed PDF with your completed paperwork and accompanying documents. You must also bring a hard copy of the signed contract with you on 10/18/2025.


The accompanying documents include:

  • Proof of Miss America Registration and $49.99 fee (screenshot)
  • Proof of Local Registration and $150.00 fee (screenshot)
  • Proof of US Citizenship (birth certificate, passport, Naturalized Citizenship Certification)
  • Proof of Geographic Eligibility (Drivers License, Learners Permit, Voter Registration Card, Lease, Utility Bill, Vehicle Registration, Federal Student Loan Statement or Full-Time Employment/Education Status)
  • Education Status (Proof of Full-Time Student or Proof of Graduation)
  • Talent Type (see below)
  • Talent Music Track (if applicable)
  • Full Color Headshot
  • Health and Fitness Introduction to be read on-stage by the MC
  • Talent Introduction to be read on-stage by the MC
