The Miss America Organization requires all contestants to register and pay entry fees, complete, and submit paperwork, and provide proof of eligibility and residency, prior to competing for a Miss or Teen title.
Miss Louisa County & Miss Hanover County:
- Miss America 18-28 – must be 18 by state competition, and no older than 27 at state competition.
- Be a United States citizen.
- Meet residency requirements; Live in Virginia at least 30-days prior to the local competition and/or work or attend school in Virginia. You do not need to be from Louisa or Hanover to apply.
- Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization.
- Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
- Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the local, state and national competition(s) in which you compete.
Miss Louisa County's Teen & Miss Hanover County's Teen:
- Miss America’s Teen 14-18 years old. Teen contestants must be at least 14 years of age by the first day of the state pageant, or no older than 18 years of age by the first day of the state pageant.
- Must not be eligible for Miss America (Miss division).
- Be a United States citizen.
- Legal resident of Virginia at least 6-months prior to local competition. You do not need to be from Louisa or Hanover to apply.
- Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization.
- Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
- Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the local, state and national competition(s) in which you compete.
